The Consumer Product Safety Information Act of 2008 put forth a wide set
of new considerations for manufacturers and importers of children’s and
adult furniture products. Since late 2009, there have been changes to this
complicated regulation. This webinar addresses the latest status of the
regulation including identification of new state limits for Cadmium testing,
“reasonable testing programs,” the status of component testing,
composite testing for “like” materials, labeling for both tracking and CPSIA
compliance purposes, recordkeeping and Certificates of Conformity. The
new publicly available database will offer new challenges as well. There are discussion points for corporate liability and the status of the present
stay of enforcement for lead content and phthalates.
