U.S. EPA's Proposed Combustion Rules
     and Definition of Solid Waste

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Learn more about new rules proposed by EPA, which will reduce emissions from boilers, process heaters, and solid waste incinerators. There are 172 commercial or industrial solid waste incinerators in the U.S. that may be affected by the proposed incinerator rule.

EPA also presents information on the proposed definition of solid waste. This proposed rule addresses which non-hazardous secondary materials would be considered solid waste and which would be considered fuel. This definition identifies the types of materials that may be burned as a fuel in a boiler or whether they must be burned in a solid waste incinerator.
