If your company sells leather or bonded leather, the lead limits established by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act apply to your products. The lead in paint and coatings requirement (16 CFR 1303) applies to coatings on bonded and pigmented leathers. Ms. McNamara is an attorney with McNamara & L'Heureux, P.C. concentrating on consumer product safety regulatory and legislative issues. She is a graduate of St. Joseph College (B.S. 1969, magna cum laude) and of the University of Notre Dame Law School (J.D. 1973). Her extensive government experience includes serving as a staff member for U. S. Senator Robert C. Byrd, as a Deputy District Attorney in Portland, Oregon, as an Attorney Advisor to the Special Assistant to the President for Consumer Affairs, and as Legal Counsel to the Chairman of the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. She entered private practice in 1978. In 1992, she founded the McNamara Law Firm (now McNamara & L’Heureux, P.C.) Her practice concentrates on regulatory and legislative issues affecting consumer products. She is admitted to the Oregon, District of Columbia, and Virginia Bars and is active in many professional associations.
