California's Proposition 65

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

This webinar addresses California's Proposition 65 and its application to manufacturers, importers and retailers of furniture. Prop 65 requires, among other things, warnings before exposure to substances known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity. Formaldehyde is listed as such a chemical. The webinar also addresses the interaction between Prop 65 and the California Air Resources Board's air toxics control measure to reduce formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products. Finally, the webinar considers the recent Prop 65 lawsuit filed by the California Attorney General regarding formaldehyde emissions from baby cribs and potential broader implications to that litigation.
